Welcome to St Anne’s Hospice
In September 1994, St Anne’s Hospice, Gwent’s only specialist ‘in-patient’ palliative care unit admitted the first patient with an advancing life limiting illness to an environment of peace, calm and caring. This experience still remains today, alongside  the holistic care provided by a resourceful multidisciplinary team where regard for the family and carer is equally important. This year, thanks to initial funding from the Welsh Assembly Government, we have been fortunate to extend the team with the skills of an occupational therapist, enhancing the care even further.

Undoubtedly, the NHS offers many excellent services to patients. However, as the end of life approaches, care is predominantly provided by voluntary organisations such as St Anne’s, which we are happy to do, but funding is key to our being able to continue to provide the free specialist palliative care needed by so many. This site seeks to provide an insight into our work, our needs, people we help, people who help us. We hope it inspires you to support us in some way.
Thank you for visiting St Anne’s Hospice web site.
